Information about the
Easter bonfire

For safety reasons, we will not be hosting our own Easter bonfire at Friesensee this year.

If you would still like to experience a traditional Easter bonfire, you can visit one nearby in Wittmund. The event is organized by the Friends of the Wittmund Volunteer Fire Department and takes place at the Schützenplatz.

Look forward to a cozy evening around the fire with food and drinks. There will also be a surprise for children. Admission is free and the event is suitable for families, children and adults.

The drive from Camping & Holiday Park Friesensee takes only about 5 minutes. Simply head towards Wittmund, follow the road into town and continue along Auricher Straße until you reach the Schützenplatz.

Sonnenwinkel area

Starting in April, our Sonnenwinkel area will be available in our booking platform. The pitches can be occupied from mid-year.

At the same time, we will also complete our large saunas (for up to 4 people, bookable by the hour) as well as two cubes for 2 people each with a direct water view.

Frieseneck Snack Bar

Dear guests,
the new opening hours for the 2026 season at Frieseneck have been confirmed.

From March to June 2026, our updated hours apply: In March, we are open from Friday to Sunday. Starting in April, we are extending our opening days, and from May and throughout June, we are open Monday through Sunday.

Please also note:
On 22/04/2026, Frieseneck will be closed.

In March, we may also open on Thursdays in good weather and with sufficient attendance.

Fresh Buns
now directly with us!

From now on, we will be baking our buns ourselves – with our new baking system from Resch & Frisch. This allows us to offer you fresh buns on weekends.

All information at a glance:

  • Selection: Baker’s rolls, butter croissants, world champion rolls, fitness rolls, pretzel sticks, cheese pretzel rolls

Redesign
of the Dog Beach

It is important to us that our four-legged guests also feel comfortable here.
Therefore, the dog beach will be extensively redesigned starting January 5th, 2025.

Please note that new grass needs to grow first before the dog area can be fully used again.
During this time, usage will be limited.

We kindly ask for your understanding – our goal is to complete the work before the high season, so that the new area will be available in the best possible condition.

Trail
through the Friesenwald

The large loop trail through the Friesenwald is taking shape.
Completion is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2026.

We look forward to offering you a new, nature-oriented walking path at that time.

Construction Work
on the Site

Currently and in the coming months, construction work will take place in several areas – at the Friesenkarree (near parking space 458), in the Harle quarter, and at Sanitary Building II (parking spaces 601–620). There may be occasional noise and dust in these areas. Additionally, construction vehicles may need to drive through the site from time to time. We are making efforts to keep the disruptions to a minimum and thank you for your understanding and consideration.

Here’s all the important information for you:

  • Pick up your key at the reception during opening hours.
  • Electricity is charged at €0.70 per kWh, including for sauna use.
  • Lake view is partially limited.
  • Sauna operation will be available from mid/end of October.
  • Pitch 323 is located directly next to the dog area.

Sauna
in the Harle Quarter

From now on, two saunas are available on our site. One sauna can be booked in combination with a pitch, perfect for guests who would like to combine wellness and camping.

The second sauna can be booked independently of a pitch and is therefore also available to guests staying in our lodges and holiday apartments. This allows everyone to relax flexibly, regardless of their accommodation.

We are delighted to offer this additional wellness experience and wish you a relaxing and enjoyable sauna stay.

Important Information
regarding the water supply in winter

Due to recurring frost damage in the past winters, we will be turning off the water at the pitches for the upcoming winter season. From November 1st, 2025 to March 1st, 2026, there will be no running water on the premises. The sanitary building and the private bathrooms will remain supplied with water. Additionally, we will set up special water collection points where you can get water during the winter. This measure helps us avoid high repair costs due to frost damage and ensures the long-term protection of our infrastructure. Thank you for your understanding!

Loop trail temporarily closed

Due to construction work for the expansion of our campsite, the loop trail will be temporarily closed. We are building a barrier to minimize the noise from the adjacent construction site. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the reception.

Dog Area

Due to the closure of the loop trail for construction work, the dog area is only partially accessible. To reach the dog area, you will need to walk through the meadow pitches. It is currently not possible to access the dog area via the private bathroom area or Lake Avenue. Please be sure not to step on the wooden planks. These are intended only for older dogs!

Update on Flight Operations
at Wittmundhafen Airport

Our campsite and holiday park is located in the flight path of Wittmundhafen Airport. Since early 2025, test flights have resumed here, and over the course of the year, flight operations have gradually been reintroduced.

In general, landings occur over our premises, while take-offs are in the opposite direction. This means that the afterburner – and thus the loudest noise – is typically not used over our park. As a result, the noise level is usually low and often hardly noticeable.

Nevertheless, occasional flight noise may occur. If you have any questions about flight operations, we are always happy to assist and do everything we can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. If you find the flight noise disturbing, you can get free earplugs at the reception.

New Private Bathrooms with Private Sauna

Starting in March 2025, we will begin expanding area F3 to build new, high-quality private bathrooms. The construction site access will be via the side road outside the Friesensee premises. This is to minimize noise as much as possible. However, it is expected that most of the work will take place during the week at the back section of the area, where the private bathrooms are being constructed. Therefore, dust and noise can be expected in this area. If anything is disturbing you, please let us know – we will be happy to assist. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to presenting our new facilities soon.

New Sauna Area
for up to four people

Starting in the 2026 season, we plan to offer a sauna area not only for our guests with private bathrooms, but also for all other guests staying at regular pitches, lodges, or holiday apartments. To do this, we would like to utilize the narrow piece of land next to the last lake lodge, Störtebecker, to build a sauna area. Although we are still in the planning phase, we aim to equip the sauna with a relaxation area, a shower, a WC, and a sauna with a panoramic window. According to the current planning, up to four people will be able to book the sauna either in the morning or afternoon online. As soon as we have more information on this, we will, of course, let you know!
